What we do and why:

We provide a unique outdoor learning experience for children, young people and adults through fun social experiences, engagement with nature, individual and group challenges, adventure, games, art and crafts.

We develop programmes for groups, birthday parties and family fun days. We can also run activities at events or come out to you if you have suitable grounds. See What We Offer for more information.

“Enjoyed it more than I thought I would / not the sort of thing I would normally do”

Why we do it: We believe that everyone should have a safe space to learn, play and have fun outdoors, and these opportunities increase self-esteem and enhance personal, social and emotional development. Our values include working within a rights based approach, and promoting equality and inclusion. We offer a fun and accessible approach to our work, whilst understanding that there can be a broad range of personal, social and political barriers to people taking part.

Our site:

Nant y Glyn Forest School is located on a small hillside woodland just outside Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The woodland is relatively young, planted around thirty years ago and is a mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees including beech and Norway spruce. The site has a specifically built fire circle area with seating and compost toilet facility.
